LA-Grififfith Observatory


Grififfith Observatory was donated by Grififfith J. Grififfith.  He first donated Grififfith Park to Los Angeles 1896.  He left money in his will to build the Observatory and the Greek Theatre.  The Grififfith Observatory was opened May 14, 1935.
